Sea Urchins (echinoderm) are found in tide pools and on rocks or sand in shallow water. They are covered with spines that they use for movement and defense. The shell of a sea urchin is made up of plates that surround its soft parts. Much like the starfish, the urchin's mouth is on its underside in the middle. Sea Urchins are a good source of food for many inhabitants of the sea. After the animal and spines have been removed, the shell of a sea urchin displays a beautiful symmetrical design.
Our sea urchin seashells, like the Pink and Alfonso Sea Urchin, are a popular home and beach decor item. We have also heard that the Green Sea Urchin and Sputnik Sea Urchin Seashells are quite popular for Wood Turning.
